We don't go to church, we are the church.

Sovereign Grace Church is a body of believers who gather to worship the Triune God (Father, Son, & Holy Spirit). We desire to recover the ancient and apostolic forms of worship and community that are recorded in the New Testament. Believing that the modern church is in need of revival, we are committed to teaching historical and orthodox truth in a way that confronts our apathy and calls us to die to self and live for Jesus Christ.

Thursday NIGHT - Children's MInistry

Sovereign Grace's AWANA ministry focuses on training children to know, memorize, understand, and apply the Holy Scriptures.

We gather on Thursday nights for

AWANA 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.

Worship

When some people hear the word "liturgy," they may think of "high church" or "empty rituals." Far from being a dead ritual, a liturgical approach to worship seeks to teach the gospel in both the words (music, preaching, etc.), and forms (communion, order of worship, etc.).

Worship gatherings are not a time of entertainment, nor are they meant to provide a person with an amazing experience. Worship must reflect, communicate, and teach the gospel at every point.

Corporate worship should tell the gospel story from beginning to end. Everything that it said and done must be intentionally gospel-centered and point people to Christ!

We observe the Lord's Supper once a month.

(See further explanations below)

our worship is confessional

1 Timothy 4:12 "...devote yourself to the public reading of scripture, to exhortation, to teaching."

Sovereign Grace Church worship gatherings include the following:

1. Scriptural Call to Worship (God calls us to gather for worship)

2. Congregational  Scripture Reading (We confess our faith to God and each other)

3. Expository Preaching (We equip the Church to know and live God's Word)

4. Christ- Centered Scripture Reading (We are called to repent of our sins and trust Christ alone for salvation; we are reminded that salvation is by grace through faith and not of works; and we find assurance of salvation only in Jesus Christ.)

5. Closing Scripture Reading (We are sent out as missionaries to proclaim God's Word)

Our worship is missional

The HEART of the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) is the command to "make disciples" of Jesus. We believe that obedience to the commission doesn't start with GOING but with EQUIPPING!. Therefore, our worship gatherings are structured to teach believers the gospel. We strive to instruct the church in such a way that they know, love, and serve the Lord Jesus Christ.

We emphasize knowing, living, and loving God's Word (cf. 1 Timothy 4:11-16)!

Furthermore, we believe that every aspect of worship should call unbelievers to trust fully and completely in Christ (i.e., justification, conversion, union with Christ), remind believers that they must continue to repent of sin and trust in Christ (i.e., sanctification, growing in Christ), communicate to believers that Christ is both the hope and the head of the church, and testify to the community that Jesus Christ is Lord (cf. Colossians 1:15-20).

Worship: Expository Preaching

Expository preaching (verse by verse) allows the congregation to be exposed to God's Word as it was written and intended by the Holy Spirit who inspired the biblical authors.

Worshiping God in "spirit and truth" (John 4:24) requires the utmost respect for the text as it was inspired by the Holy Spirit. The Bible is not a book of magical spells or proof-texts to support the doctrines of men.

Teaching children about God through a Word-Centered Catechism

At Sovereign Grace Church, we believe that God has created children with an amazing capacity to understand and remember His Word and important theological truths.

Questions and answers based on God's Word are a timeless way to teach children the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ.

Example Question: Why were we created?

Example Answer: To glorify God.

Example Question: What is justification?

Example Answer: When Jesus declared me not guilty.

Example Question: What is illumination?

Example Answer: God shines his light on His Word.

Children are provided a Q & A booklet written by Pastor T.J.
